The Wednesday Morning Worlds ride has resumed and will run through the spring and summer. Rain cancels the ride.  If it’s obviously going to be bad weather we’ll post an update here Tuesday night, otherwise by 5 a.m. prior to the ride.  Better safe than sorry so check here before you leave your house in the morning!

A morning ride.  What could be better than riding when the birds are waking up, and before there are too many cars on the road?

We’ll ride fast, the idea is focused camaraderie.  Everybody needs to be able to keep up a 16 mph pace in hard conditions, 18-20 mph in easy.  It is not a race; speed requirements are dictated by the need to get back to the Studio by 8:00 a.m.  So we don’t want to drop anyone, but we can’t guarantee you won’t get dropped considering the pace and the need for the group to get back to the Studio by 8am.

Distance will be typically be around 33-35 miles.  Routes will generally be in the Lincoln, Bedford, Concord, Carlisle areas so you should be familiar enough with the local geography so that you can make it back on your own if you have to.

Typically the Studio will be open 10 minutes before the ride departs if you need any mechanical support, a tube, or anything else.  We don’t guarantee that we’ll be up that early but we’ll try.  The Cafe won’t be up and running until 7 am; so by the time you return, if you’d like coffee, a pastry, or some coconut water, the Cafe will be ready to serve.

We hope to see you on Wednesday mornings!

What to bring:

  • Your helmet, riding shoes, and I.D.  Riders seem to forget these items more often than you might think.
  • Appropriate clothes for changing temperatures.  The difference between 6 am and 8 am can be 10-15 degrees.  Be prepared.
  • Tool kit including at least one appropriate tube.  You’ll be on your own if you have a mechanical so you’ll want to bring an entire tool kit.
  • PLEASE BE KIND, if the roads are wet put on a back fender that covers enough of your rear wheel so that no one has to eat liquified road grit!
  • LIGHTS.  It’s dark out there first thing in the winter morning, and even if you can see the road make sure the cars can see you.  Think blinkies!

Don’t forget:

  • Before the ride, if you need any mechanical help, or service of any kind, send us an email and we’ll gladly be at the Studio early to help with anything you need on the fly.  Otherwise we can’t guarantee that we’ll always be open or awake before 6 am but we’ll try.
  • We have demo bikes available if you’d like to try one during the ride.  Call ahead so we can have something ready.

Waiver: RSC requires a signed waiver before your first ride.  We will  have waivers at the Studio for you to complete and sign, and you can review a copy of our waiver here.

Parking:  If you’re driving to participate in the ride, make sure that you do not park in the Lemon Grass restaurant parking lot; you will get towed.  Fortunately, there is a ton of parking in the area–and it is really inexpensive.

By the way, here’s where you can find our comprehensive list of weekly rides.

We hope to see you there–or somewhere on the road.  If you have questions, email or call (339) 970-0187.
